
Alpine Electronics has added a trio of new GPS navigators to its line: the IVA-W203/P1, the IVA-W505/P1, and the IVA-D106.
The W203 and W505 are both 2-DIN GPS navigators for in-dash installation combining audio/video entertainment features with the usual navigation tools. Both come with preloaded NAVTEQ maps of the United States, Canada, and surrounding coastal regions, 3D/2D/split/turn-by-turn map viewing options, preloaded points of interest, text-to-speech turn-by-turn directions in English/French/Spanish, and Bluetooth.
The IVA-W203 sports a 6.5-inch QVGA touchscreen and has a bunch of multimedia entertainment options including HD/satellite radio and DVD/MP3/WMA/iPod playback. The IVA-W505 has a larger 7-inch WVGA display and in addition to the features of the W203 adds CD/AAC/DivX support and a USB port.
The IVA-D106 is a 1-DIN unit that pops in and out of the chassis via a motor and boasts a 7-inch touchscreen display. It natively plays CD/DVD and can also connects to an iPod using a separately purchased cable. It doesn’t have native GPS features, but supports add-on’s if the future calls for a fully featured system. It also had optional Bluetooth compatibility.
All of the new Alpine models are available from authorized retailers. The IVA-W203/P1, IVA-W505/P1, and IVA-D106 cost $1, 400, $1, 100, and $1, 000 respectively.
