Utah-based Amber Alert GPS has announced the Amber Alert GPS 2G, a child safety device that allows parents to know where their kids are at all times.
The small 1.77 x 1.68 x 0.78 inch device needs to be placed with or on a child. If a parent wants to find their child’s location, they just have to text ‘WHERE’ to the device from a mobile phone, after which they’ll be able to see a mapped location of their child on the internet.
The Amber Alert GPS can be programmed to alert a parent should a child go outside of a pre-determined safety zone, alert the parent once the child has reached his destination, create a ‘bread-crumbed’ trail of the chosen route through a series of alerts, voice monitoring, and a speedometer if the child is in a car. The device also has an emergency button that the child can press if they need immediate help.
Available in silver, pink, blue or black, the Amber Alert GPS costs $379 plus a $9.99 base monthly price for data transfer. It’s now shipping in the United States and Canada.
