If you’ve got your hands on a 3G iPhone yet, you’ve probably already killed your battery at least once. Apple states that you’ll get up to 5 hours of talk time on 3G, 10 hours of talk time on 2G, 5 hours of internet use on 3G, 6 hours of internet use on Wi-Fi, 7 hours of video playback, and 24 hours of audio playback on a full charge at original capacity. We’re not entirely sure what original capacity means, but it sounds like that means an empty iPhone. Who knows with Apple? Combine all these services together and you’re battery life works out to almost nothing. But what if you want to maximize your battery life? Can you get anymore life out of it?
Apple says you can. Just turn your phone off, or if its on, don’t use 3G or any of its extensive functions and capabilities. Seriously, check out Apple’s dedicated iPhone battery maximization page. It’s kinda humorous.
