Apple will be shipping a netbook built by Quanta Computer in the third quarter of 2009, according to Taiwan’s Commercial Times. Wintek has revealed that its is currently working with Apple to develop new products, and will be the supplier of touch panels for the netbook.
If the report is true, it signifies a change in perspective on Apple’s part. Earlier this year the company was dismissive of entering the netbook market, citing the tiny notebooks as “inferior” with “cramped keyboards” and “small displays”.
