ASUS and Acer continue to penetrate the United States with the ever popular netbook, reports Digitimes. In fact, according to the publication’s “market sources in Taiwan”, ASUS has grabbed some coveted space on Walmart’s shelves. The famous Eee PC line is expected to begin selling at Walmart sometime in the second half of 2009, and while prices won’t change much for you and me, ASUS expects the distribution deal to help double its 2009 netbook shipments from 2008.
Acer is still a ways ahead, shipping over 4 million netbooks and notebooks in the United States last year, and its Aspire One D150 netbook, officially shipping in the United States today should help prop up its 2009 numbers.
