Telematics provider ATX Group announced this morning that it will provide select 2010 Toyota and Lexus vehicles with connected navigation and emergency response services.
Called Toyota/Lexus Safety Connect, the program will provide Lexus and Toyota with “GPS satellite, location-based Automatic Collision Notification, designated in-vehicle Emergency Assistance, Roadside Assistance and Stolen Vehicle Locator” services. Each service patches directly in to ATX’s Response Center and to 911 emergency services.
Navigation-equipped vehicles will, in addition to Safety Connect features, also have access to Lexus Reform. Consisting of two parts, Destination Assist and eDestination, Lexus Reform connects drivers with agents that can help them find businesses and other points of interest. The eDestination service allows drivers to sort routes and favorite POIs online and send them directly to their vehicle’s navigation system.
The ATX Safety Connect system will be a factory install and will include a complimentary 1-year cellular subscription with vehicle purchase.
