Navevo ProNav GPS: Never Hit A Bridge Again
Navevo’s ProNav GPS is built specifically for lorry drivers and other heavy goods vehicles. From this you can probably figure out this unit’s a UK device. Using Navteq Transport, the ProNav system dynamically routes bigger vehicles factoring in their dimensions, road warnings and even road weight restrictions in order to avoid the now famous “truck hits bridge because of GPS unit” incidents. The ProNav GPS software even incorporates London area unloading info including times loading docks are unserviced and even a parking penalties database. Not only does the ProNav GPS have the typical POI databases, it also has POI’s specifically tailored to professional drivers including cafes with meals under £5 and nationwide HGV petrol stations. One button press will turn this big rig GPS unit into the usual car navigation system with street level maps of the UK and Ireland. So we know the Navevo ProNav GPS exists now. Will there be anymore big rig bridge strikes in the UK?
