The San Francisco-based company has received $3.2 million from the fund, in addition to $7 million closed in January, to xobni sidebar full small Blackberry Partners Fund adds Xobni to its investment portfoliobring its total Series B investment to $10 million.  Rick Segal, a Blackberry Partners Fund partner, will also join Xobni’s board of directors.

Xobni says it will use the funding to improve the plugin’s performance and relationship management, as well as develop a premium version which is slated for release this summer.  Xobni is also aiming to adapt the plugin for lower power devices, like Blackberry’s I would imagine.

Xobni has just been released from beta with the introduction of Xobni v1.7.  The plugin helps to organize your inbox by searching for relationships between messages.  Think of it as revealing the social network within your inbox.  Once installed, Xobni adds a sidebar to Outlook which includes profiles of people you correspond with and all the exchanges you have with each person.  That way, rather than having to sift through emails one-by-one if you’re trying to organize your correspondence with one person, you have it already done for you.

The official version has a few changes from beta as well.  Xobni says that the plugin loads faster inside Outlook, partially the result of caching profile data.  Users will have indexing controls so they can choose how often and how much of their email is indexed, as well as sidebar controls enabling users to choice whether Xobni automatically opens with Outlook or only when needed.

Xobni is the Blackberry Partners Fund’s fifth investment.  Buzzd, Digby, Worldmate and Neuralitic are also members of its portfolio.
