Sprint Nextel Keeping Nextel:  After failing to find a buyer for its Nextel iDEN ‘walkie-talkie’ network willing to pay $5.4 billion, the amount of debt Sprint currently has, the company has decided to “retain and rejuvenate this important asset”.  Rejuvenating includes launching the Blackberry Curve later this year and revamping its prepaid Boost Mobile brand with a new unlimited access plan and cheaper per-minute rates beginning next year.

Sprint Touch Pro Available Online:  Sure enough, it’s November 2 and Sprint’s GPS-enabled Touch Pro is now available online.  A starting price of $579 plus instant savings of $180 and a $100 mail-in rebate brings the price to $299.99 with a 2-year contract.
