Newer high-end models from Garmin and Navigon feature free lifetime real-time traffic info, but Navigon’s 2200T is the first “genuine entry-level GPS navigator” boasting the same feature.  Not only does it include free traffic info for life, but also Reality View with Lane Assist to help you navigate difficult urban junctions in 3D, text-to-speech, a 3.5-inch touchscreen, Navigon FreshMaps and a SiRF InstantFixII GPS receiver.  It sports an entry-level price as well-only $229.

Navigon 1200, 1210, 2200, 2210 PND’s Headed To Europe

Navigon will launch four new PND’s for the European directionally-challenged in September.  Announced at IFA in Berlin, the Navigon 1200 and Navigon 1200 are both entry-level GPS systems that sport a few higher-end features such as Lane Assistant Pro, Speed Assistant, and Radar info.  Both powered by a 375 MHz processor with 64 MB or RAM, the Navigon 1200 and 1210 have 3.5-inch displays and a microSD card slot for text-to-speech or map upgrades.  The Navigon 1200 includes maps of Austria, Switzerland and Germany and will retail for 129 € while the Navigon 1210 will feature 40 countries in its map database and set you back 149 €.

Navigon’s 2200 and 2210 PND’s are powered by 375 MHz processors with 512 MB of RAM and 2 GB of ROM, and unlike the 1200 and 1210, have native text-to-speech capabilities.  The 2200 and 2210 are also compatible with Navigon’s FreshMaps service which allows you to keep your PND up-to-date with all the latest map changes.  The Navigon 2200, priced at 149 €, includes maps of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland while the Navigon 2210, priced at 179 €, is the most expensive of the foursome, but comes with maps of 40 European countries.

Navigon 7200T: Premium Features For Sub-Premium Price

We haven’t heard from Navigon in awhile, but yesterday the company unveiled their new 7200T PND.  The Navigon 7200T is nothing short of premium, boasting high-end features such as Reality View Pro, Lane Assistant Pro, and free lifelong real-time traffic updates.  Voice Destination Entry eliminates the need to type in your destination manually and Landmark View 3D brings three-dimensional landmark viewing to the PND for POI’s across both the United States and Canada.  With Bluetooth, text-to-speech, Zagat ratings, and even a direct help feature, Navigon’s $449 price tag seems like a bargain.  Look for the Navigon 7200T to hit shelves this October.
