Thinkware iNAVI K7 Debuts With 3D Maps, G-Sensor

The last time we heard from Thinkware was way back in March when the company announced the iNAVI K2.  Now they’re back with the iNAVI K7 featuring a huge 7-inch WVGA LCD display, iNAVI 3D mapping, 256 MB RAM/ROM, and an 8GB SDHC memory card.

It also incorporates G-sensor technology which is a 3-axis sensor that detects the absolute direction of the north pole and the heading direction of your car.  The handy thing about G-sensor is that it speeds up the search and mapping process.

All of the control keys on the right-side of the device are LED backlit, and the iNAVI K7 boasts DMB TV and video playback, mp3 playback, games, and an e-book and photo viewer.  Powered by a detachable battery pack, the Thinkware iNAVI K7 is available in Korea for 549,000 KRW, about US$496.

iNAVI 3D: Thinkware Moves Into 3D Electronic Mapping

Thinkware iNAVI 3D

Eventually one day we’re sure that GPS navigation will feature real-time, real-visual representation of the traffic landscape.  Right now though, the closest we have to that is 3D visual representation and even that is a feature just breaking into the realm of new and innovative.  The iNAVI 3D is 3D electronic mapping software from Thinkware featuring 3D representations of the environment structure, streets and traffic signals.  Far removed from the 2-dimensions so typical of mainstream GPS units, eh?
