Notebook manufacturer Clevo seems to be a leader in a trend I think we’ll be seeing alot of in the future: netbooks with built-in GPS modules. The company has just announced its latest netbook, the TN70M, which indeed includes GPS among other features. Some of those include a 7-inch 800 x 480 pixel touchscreen display, 1.33GHz Atom Z520 CPU, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and an optional WLAN module.
Other features include an accelerometer, 1 GB of RAM, a 5-in-1 memory card reader, ExpressCard slot, MiniCard slot, a pair of USB 2.0 ports and VGA audio ports. Buyers also have the option of including a fingerprint reader and/or webcam. The 904 gram Clevo TN70M has a seemingly half-decent 4-cell 5, 200 mAh battery and will ship for US$623 for the base model. Optional features will cost you extra.
PND manufacturer Mio is also rumored to be building a GPS-centric netbook, while it was recently announced NAVTEQ had teamed up with Intel to give the latter’s Moblin netbook platform a bit of geospatial flavor.
