Cobra Electronics announced the world’s first touchscreen radar detectors at CES 2010–the XRS 9970G and the XRS 9965–and the XRS 9550G, a sub-$200 model.

Both touchscreen models have a 1.5-inch color interface with a Menu tab enabling access to all user settings in one spot. Cobra says this will simplify the setup for the user. The XRS 9970G also features the AURA Camera Driving Hazard Database (which stores GPS coordinates of speed and red light cameras and driving hazards) and IntelliView Pro which displays a “photo-enforced alert as well as the speed of the vehicle if under radar surveillance.”

The sub-$200 XRS 9550G features 14 Bands of detection, Voice Alert, POP detection, and a lifetime subscription to both the AURA Camera and Driving Hazard Database.

Owners can download AURA updates online anytime by hooking up the detector to a PC via USB. Up to 1, 000 temporary hazards can be added to the database manually.

Available in March 2010, the Cobra XRS 9970G, Cobra XRS 9965 and Cobra XRS 9950G will be priced between $199.95 and $379.95.
