deCarta Mobile Launches iPhone API For Quick App Building

LBS industry big name deCarta has made a smart strategic move by launching an application programming interface (API) for deCarta Mobile to support the quick development of location-based applications for the iPhone.  The iPhone API complements the J2ME API the company announced last month, both using a client/server architecture that provides the framework for mobile application developers to implement “modular fluid maps, panning, zooming, routing, geocoding, reverse geocoding and pin overlays into their applications”.

The iPhone API supports touchscreen use for zooming and panning, comes with complete source code and even sample application code.  deCarta Mobile for all platforms is capable of finding a user’s position not only using GPS, but also Wi-Fi and cell tower locations.
