The iPhone Dev Team’s soft 3G iPhone unlock has finally been released as expected. The key point to remember here is that the yellowsn0w application is a 0.9.1 beta so don’t automatically expect everything will run smoothly. Also, at the time of this writing there is some 4500 comments at the Dev Team’s blog regarding the release. While I can’t possibly go through them all, just the first page points out issues with a number of carriers around the world. All the beta release details are available from the team’s blog, the Cydia source can be found here, and the installer repo here. Things seem to be a little backed up at the moment so you may have to wait a little bit to download the unlock.
