When I first laid eyes on the Ego Drive GPS, I thought it was a portable media player with GPS functionality. The amazing thing is that the Raytel Corporation, which sells the Ego lineup, could probably market this amazing little device as both.
The Ego Drive GPS features a 4.3 inch high-def touchscreen with a built-in sensor that automatically adjusts the screen illumination depending on the lighting conditions. It also has 2 USB ports and an SD slot in addition to 2 GB of built-in memory. The unit is Bluetooth-enabled with voice recognition for up to 10 different people, integration with your car’s stereo system, and the ability to not only show picture and text messages, but to read text messages out loud too.
Multimedia features include Bluetooth audio streaming (A2DP and AVRCP), JPEG and TIFF picture viewing, support for audio and video including MP3, WAV, and MPEG4 file formats, and Microsoft ActiveSync data synchronization. It even features a composite input for hooking up your DVD player or camcorder.
