Enigmatic Mio netbook sports ARM processor, GPS, Wi-Fi

mio mid Enigmatic Mio netbook sports ARM processor, GPS, Wi Fi

We’ve been hearing rumors of a Mio-branded mobile internet device or netbook for a bit now, so it’s no surprise the company has one under glass at CES.  But tell me this: how the heck has no one come across this two days into the conference?  Kevin C. Tofel’s astute eye did this evening, thank goodness.  Though Tofel couldn’t get his hands on the device, he did say that the Mio MID has a 800 x 480 resolution display, 667 MHz ARM processor, Window Mobile 6.1 operating system, integrated Wi-Fi, GPS, a USB out, and an 8 hour battery life.  No word on pricing or anything else at the moment.

Update: I just remembered something.  At the beginning of December it was reported that Mio would be launching a 3.5G handset in the United States in Q1 2009 and in mid-December we saw what I’m assuming is that handset pass through the FCC.  It was in that time frame I heard Mio was launching an MID in the United States in Q1 2009 as well.
