Only a ballsy GPS manufacturer would enter the US market these days, a market completely saturated by Garmin, TomTom and Magellan. That’s exactly what Enzym has done, debuting three new models in the next month or so. The Enzym SG-350 has a 3.5-inch display, runs on a fast 533 Mhz processor and NavMate engine, and features a database of 2008 Q2 Navteq maps and 11 million POIs. Multimedia buffs will be happy to know the SG-350 will playback both MP3’s and MP4’s and has a picture viewer as well. It’s fairly low-cost too, retailing initially for only $200.
The SG-250 and SG-450BF are scheduled for release early in September. The SG-250 retains all of the SG-350’s features minus the multimedia playback and will cost only $150. Definitely looks like a decent basic GPS buy. The SG-450BF also has all of the features of the SG-350, but sports a larger 4.3-inch display as well as Bluetooth and FM transmitter options. A little more expensive, the SG-450BF will set you back $300.
Keep your eyes on Navigadget. They’ve managed to get their hands on a review copy of the Enzym SG-350 and have a review coming down the pipeline very soon.
