First International Computer (FIC) is bringing a netbook to the United States according to FCC documents. Currently known as the FIC CW001 Mini-note, the netbook features a 1.6 Ghz Intel Atom processor with integrated Intel 945 GSE graphics, 10.4-inch display supporting 1024 x 600 pixels, 2 GB of DDR2 RAM, and opts for a SATA II hard drive over the often-used lower capacity solid state drive. The CW001 will run on an unknown Windows operating system, feature Bluetooth and 802.11b/g Wi-Fi connectivity, an optical drive, ExpressCard slot, 4-in-1 card reader, and 1.3 megapixel web camera. Known connection ports include a couple of USB slots, Ethernet slot, and VGA output and the CW001’s power source is a 4.5 hour lithium ion battery. No pricing or availability information was included in the FCC documents. First International Computer also manufactured the first OpenMoko handset.
