Tramping through the Netherlands and looking for an ATM in vain? Got yourself a T-Mobile G1? Bank ING has put together an Android application named ING Wegwijzer that uses the G1’s GPS and digital compass to provide you with directions to the nearest bank machine.
The application offers something called augmented reality, by overlaying directions onto real-time views of the surrounding area. Other Android apps that use augmented reality include Lastminute’s nru and Wikitude. However, ING’s application only works in the Netherland’s where ING is based.
