Find Wi-Fi hotspots with TotalHotSpots-branded Rummble iPhone app

by Justin on January 30, 2009

rummbleUK-based mobile startup Rummble has partnered with global Wi-Fi directory TotalHotSpots to release a branded Wi-Fi hotspot-finding iPhone application.

With the TotalHotSpots-branded application, you’ll be able to see all nearby Wi-Fi hotspots in addition to enjoying the regular Rummble features.  You can “rummble” or rate hotspots and both comment and see user comments in order to pick the best spot.  And if you know of, or come across, Wi-Fi spots that aren’t in the directory you can add them.

The application is available in the iTunes app store for £2.99.  The regular Rummble iPhone app is free, but you won’t be able to find hotspots with it.

If you’re not familiar with Rummble, it’s part location-based social network, part search engine.  It allows ratings and reviews of places and events, plus includes a microblogging feature that allows you to communicate with friends.  You can read more about Rummble in my original write-up.
