Garmin-Asus nuviphone G60 shipping in June, to run on LiMo

The Garmin-Asus nuviphone G60 is likely to ship in June, an anonymous source told Reuters.  This isn’t really news as the first Garmin smartphone has always been expected to ship in the first half of 2009, but what is surprising is the choice of operating system.  While at one time there were hopes of Android, and more recently a greater likelihood of Windows Mobile, Garmin-Asus has appeared to have chose Linux-based LiMo as the operating system for the G60.  I’m assuming the LiMo-based phone is the G60 anyways, as Garmin-Asus is reportedly using Windows Mobile for its other 2009 smartphone release.  Given the fact that the nuviphone G20 is a business-centric handset, Windows Mobile would be the obvious choice.
