Garmin-Asus have revealed the specifications of the co-branded nuviphone G60 today. While the nuviphone M20 is designed for business users, the nuviphone G60 is designed for the rest of us. Sporting a large 3.55-inch touchscreen display, the nuviphone G60 has a simple, yet intuitive user interface by the looks of it. The home screen has three main icons–Call, Search, and View Map–that allow users to accomplish common tasks with one tap. One the side of the home screen are secondary icons for other functions that can be added, removed, and arranged by preference.
The 3.5G quad-band GSM G60 adds location data to everything, whether it be email, SMS, photos, or your social network updates. It also includes Ciao!–as does the nuviphone M20–a social network that allows users to keep track of their friends and offers turn-by-turn navigation to contacts’ locations. The nuviphone G60 will even automatically update social networking profiles.
Other features include HTML web browsing, Wi-Fi, optional QWERTY or A to Z soft keyboards, a 3 megapixel camera with auto-focus/geotagging, GPS coordinates for emergency calls, an accelerometer, and all the navigational features of a Garmin nuvi GPS device.
Like the nuviphone M20, the nuviphone G60 will be on display at the Mobile World Congress where pricing and availability should be announced for the first half of 2009.
