Garmin today has announced BirdsEye Satellite and Aerial Imagery for its Oregon, Colorado and Dakota handheld GPS navigators.
With data provided by DigitalGlobe, Garmin’s BirdsEye imagery gives users the option of subscribing to photo-based maps that offer 0.5 meter per pixel resolution in many areas of the United States and zoom levels ranging from 12 miles to 20 feet. Vector maps can also be overlaid on top of the BirdsEye imagery to provide users with points of interest and other details.
For unlimited downloads of BirdsEye imagery to a single Garmin GPS device, you’ll pay $29.99 per year. It will be available in March 2010.
