Garmin Nuviphone: Finally An iPhone Killer?

Garmin Nuviphone

If you haven’t heard of the Garmin Nuviphone by now, here’s the rundown. The touchscreen slab-style handset will have a 3.5 inch touchscreen display, feature millions of POIs, WiFi, Bluetooth, and a 3G modem using HSDPA. Being a smartphone, you can expect the Nuvi to have an easy-to-use and effective interface with plenty of productivity apps, as well as audio and video playback. Definitely not as sleek as the iPhone, it’s still reasonable to assume that the Nuviphone will be the closest thing to an iPhone killer when it’s released in the fall. Garmin’s pretty stingy on details so far, as they haven’t released pricing or carrier details, but as Wired points out HSDPA likely means either AT&T or possibly T-Mobile.
