Garmin nuvi 1690 with nuLink!
Garmin has chosen wireless provider AT&T to provide the cellular connection used by the upcoming nuvi 1690 GPS. Specifically, the nuvi 1690’s nuLink feature will use the cellular connection to provide device owners the ability to perform Google Local searches for points of interest, see real-time traffic updates, and connect and share with other nuvi users through Garmin’s Ciao social network.
The Garmin nuvi 1690 is expected to ship October 20 for $500. The AT&T data connection will be free for the first 2 years after which it will cost $5 per month. It’s available for pre-order now through Amazon.
