Gizmodo reviews nuvifone G60, says it sucks

Wilson Rothman from Gizmodo is known for his snark; not surprising given that the gadget publication he writes for differentiates itself from its competitors based on this very writing quality. One place I don’t feel snark is well-suited to, however, is product reviews. While I find Rothman to be an entertaining writer for the most part, I find most of his product reviews to be nothing more than a pile of horseshit. For the reason mentioned above.

Today though, Rothman posted a review of the Garmin nuvifone G60, released this week with AT&T in the United States, and it’s definitely worth a read if you’re planning on heading out the door to purchase one in the near future.  Aside from the unreasonable (in my opinion) price tag, the nuvifone G60 has its share of negatives; at least according to the reviewer. Some of the biggies: no homescreen button, a crappy camera, a useless web browser, a $5 monthly charge for live services, a lackluster battery life, and a lack of a car adapter.

Unfortunately I can’t verify Rothman’s point of view because I live in Canada. And I wish I could, especially because I generally think his reviews are horseshit as I’ve already mentioned (really I just enjoy typing the word horseshit…). But if you’re planning on forking out $300, definitely give his review a read. Ever think about sticking with an iPhone app, Garmin?
