If you’re headed to the SEMA automotive trade show in Las Vegas starting November 4, keep your eyes peeled for the NCC (National Christmas Company) to unveil a line of Goodyear-branded navigation systems.
The new lineup will include the entry-level GY130 and GY135, mid-range GY140 and GY145, and a group of higher-end PND’s including the GY440.
All of the units will include NAVTEQ maps, turn-by-turn navigation, and a LookAhead Button which upon beginning to enter an address will show you the most likely options based on ‘city or street popularity and size’. The entire line will also feature INSTANT Rerouting, which quickly reroutes you in case you miss a turn by proactively calculating all the possible directions in a one mile radius from your position. The GY 135 and GY145 will also include text-to-speech.
The company’s high-end lineup will have the features of the lower-end models, then add Bluetooth, route exporting to Google Maps, MSN Direct live traffic, an FM tranmitter, MP3 playback, and Microsoft Outlook synchronization. The GY440 will also include voice recognition for address entry.
No word on pricing yet, though it’ll supposedly be competitive, but the new Goodyear-branded GPS units are expected to be available before Christmas.
