An Italian tax evader has been nabbed after the Guardia di Finanza (Finance Police) used Google Earth to locate a property worth far more than claimed. The Cortina d’Ampezzo-based businessman apparently sold the property in question in 2002 for 280, 000 euros. The Finance Police weren’t sure where the property was located, but were made aware that it had a phallic-shaped swimming pool. After it was located by the, um, smoking gun, it was quite obvious by the value of the surrounding properties that the claimed sale price was well below the true sale price. In the end, the investigation revealed that the businessman skipped out on 7 million euros in tax payments and predictably, is in a giant, phallic-shaped pool of hot water.
