Google launches product search for Android, iPhone

google product searchlogo Google launches product search for Android, iPhoneGoogle announced this morning that Google Product Search has been integrated with mobile search results on Android handsets and the iPhone.  Now, if you’re shopping and want to compare prices, check product reviews, or find information that will help you make an informed purchase choice, just head to Google in your mobile browser, type in your product query and then click on the ’shopping’ link in the search results.

You’ll be able to organize results in a number of ways including price, product rating, brand, and by store.  While this looks pretty handy, it’s only available in the United Kingdom and United States currently.  I’m not sure if Google has plans to make it available elsewhere.

An Android application you might like if this appeals to you is ShopSavvy. It lets you take pictures of product barcodes and then compare prices and find nearby locations with the product in inventory.
