Google may aim to organize the world’s information, but the company hasn’t really completed its job until everyone, everywhere has access to that information. Considering that Google Maps and Street View have really taken on an international expansion focus lately, it’s no surprise that the navigational services are now available on Nokia S60 and Windows Mobile phones. Both operating systems are fairly popular still outside of North America, so this was bound to happen. After all, the further Google reaches the more advertising dollars it will be able to generate.
Now in version 2.3, Google Maps for mobile also has some new features for all mobile phones. You’ll be able to request driving, walking, and public transit directions; receive transit alerts from partnered public transportation authorities; and even read place reviews submitted by other users.
If you have a Nokia S60 or Windows Mobile phone, you can download Google Maps for mobile directly from your handset by visiting google.com/gmm.
