Who knew that mapping API’s could ensue worldwide panic? Okay, maybe not worldwide, but a Google News story about a Russian invasion of Georgia (the country) was pinpointed on an accompanying Google Map as a Russian invasion of the America’s southern state. According to Valleywag, a Yahoo Answers user actually hit the web to ask why the apparent invasion was so, umm, subtle in the Georgia state area. Yes, that’s right, because it was happening in an entirely different part of the world. Makes you wonder what kind of mass hysteria a machine language could actually cause.
