Google Maps dominates
Business analytics firm Strategy Analytics recently conducted a survey of 625 automotive consumers in the United States and Western Europe in order to gauge the strength of PND and mapping brands.
Not particularly surprising is the revelation that Google Maps is by far the most trusted cellphone navigation brand in both the US and Western Europe.
While Garmin is the dominant PND brand in the US and TomTom dominates in Western Europe, I find it somewhat surprising that TomTom’s Western European dominance over number 2 Garmin is much greater than Garmin’s dominance over TomTom in the US.
