If you’re a fan of using Google Maps to plan trips and plot driving directions, you’ll be happy to know that Google has added Street View to Google Maps. This lets you plot a route on Google Maps, and if your route is in the 44 regions of the US where Street View is usable, you’ll find little camera icons along your route. Clicking on these icons will bring up Street View panoramic pictures of the street with a Google Maps arrows overlay pointing you in the right direction. Google says adding Street View provides a “visual context” for driver in action situations like turning or merging, allowing them to see action spots ahead of time including posted speed limits, obstacles, and obstacles.
