Yet another GPS unit/portable media player, the GPS-288 from MTWO Technologies supports MPEG-2, MPEG-4, AVI, ASF and WMV videos, MP3, WMA and WAV audio files and JPEG, BMP, GIF and PNG images. It does it all apparently. It’s powered by a SiRF III module and 400 MHz ARM9 core Samsung processor along with 64MB of SDRAM and 64MB of NAND flash memory, upgradeable to 1 GB.
The 480×272-pixel resolution 2.8-inch TFT LCD touchscreen adequately displays all of your multimedia including a built-in reader for ebooks. The operating system is Windows CE 4.2 with the option of the newer 5.0 version. Like most great GPS units these day, the GPS-288 is Bluetooth-enabled meaning hands-free phone calls, always handy when you’re on the road and has a USB connection and SD slot for up to 2 GB of added memory.
