TomTom Jumps On The 3G iPhone Application Bandwagon
TomTom looks ready to jump on the 3G iPhone application bandwagon, telling Reuters that it has an iPhone-ready version of its navigation software all ready to go, and plans to sell it via the iPhone app store. The company was pretty closed when it came to details; in fact everything the company offered was stated in the first sentence of this article, but we’d imagine that whatever they’ll be selling will go beyond what the new 3G iPhone has to offer. Not only could TomTom offer their huge database of maps without the need for a wireless internet connection, but could also offer features such as real-time traffic data beyond the color-coded Google Maps the iPhone will feature and instant messaging. No word yet regarding TomTom’s iPhone app release date, nor its pricing, but we’re venturing a guess that it’ll be some time this summer.
