Garmin Oregon Handhelds, nuvi 880 Now Available

Garmin’s Oregon handheld line is now shipping, as is its nuvi 880. The Oregon line is the successor to Garmin’s highly successful Colorado series, combining the touchscreen interface of the company’s automotive PND’s with features more suitable for the rugged, outdoorsy types. The Garmin nuvi 880 features a few new specs from Garmin including voice recognition, enhanced MSN Direct content, photo navigation, and address syncing with Google Maps or Mapquest. We should mention to that Linux fans will be pleased to know the nuvi 880 runs the open-source operating system.
