Garmin’s been pretty quiet regarding details of its planned 3rd quarter release of the Garmin nuvifone, first announced back in January. However, Engadget caught wind of a surreptitious survey that’s been conducted by the company that, in essence, has been asking if customers would buy the phone given a price of $499.99, a $19.99 monthly fee for unlimited internet and navigation, and a standard voice rate plan for an additional monthly fee, all provided by AT&T. It looks like the results of the survey were in favor of Garmin’s plan, as the pic above as been released with those pricepoints. Interestingly, price has been a barrier in jacking up iPhone sales for Apple, yet Garmin looks to be following the same pricing strategy. Given that it’s only midway through the 2nd quarter and a 2G iPhone release is upcoming, we wonder if Garmin will change their pricing tune under the influence of a marketing behemoth like Apple come release date.
