Navigon will launch four new PND’s for the European directionally-challenged in September. Announced at IFA in Berlin, the Navigon 1200 and Navigon 1200 are both entry-level GPS systems that sport a few higher-end features such as Lane Assistant Pro, Speed Assistant, and Radar info. Both powered by a 375 MHz processor with 64 MB or RAM, the Navigon 1200 and 1210 have 3.5-inch displays and a microSD card slot for text-to-speech or map upgrades. The Navigon 1200 includes maps of Austria, Switzerland and Germany and will retail for 129 € while the Navigon 1210 will feature 40 countries in its map database and set you back 149 €.
Navigon’s 2200 and 2210 PND’s are powered by 375 MHz processors with 512 MB of RAM and 2 GB of ROM, and unlike the 1200 and 1210, have native text-to-speech capabilities. The 2200 and 2210 are also compatible with Navigon’s FreshMaps service which allows you to keep your PND up-to-date with all the latest map changes. The Navigon 2200, priced at 149 €, includes maps of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland while the Navigon 2210, priced at 179 €, is the most expensive of the foursome, but comes with maps of 40 European countries.
