Owners of Navigon 7100/5100/2100/2120 GPS units may want to log into their Navigon accounts if they haven’t done so since January 31 to download the latest 1.1 software update for their navigators. The new update includes easier point of interest (POI) searches, improved voice guidance, enhancements to text-to-speech, and improvements to the interface display. Some routing issues still remain and POI search still needs some improvement but overall Navigon GPS units are easy-to-use and extremely functional. Next month the company also plans to release and automated widget for future updates so you don’t have to open your Navigon account and drag a folder onto your SD card. Not very hard to do, but automation is always nice.
