Panasonic Strada CN-HX1000D, CN-HW1000D GPS Units Control Your Home From Your Car
Panasonic’s Strada GPS system line has a couple of new additions. The Strada CN-HX1000D and Strada CN-HW1000D are both pretty well identical when it comes to features, with the exception of their size, but while these two new Panny devices obviously have GPS functionality, that’s really not their key feature. What’s so cool about the new Strada’s is that they connect to your home automation system, so you can control aspects of your home directly from your car. Unfortunately for those living outside of Japan, you’re SOL, but for Japanese residents a partnership with SoftBank, Docomo, and Au and some integration with the built-in Bluetooth, all of your home devices can be accessed via the net. Lock your door if you forgot, preset your DVR to record your favorite TV show, preheat the oven, turn on the air conditioning…that’s right, the possibilities are endless and all by the press of your Strada touchscreen.

Both devices feature a 7-inch 800×480 LCD touchscreen, the usual GPS functions, DVD/TV/CD/MP3/RADIO playback and even a built-in hard disk drive. Watch for an upcoming Japanese release and check out the demo vid above.
