3G iPhone owners have been waiting patiently for a fully functional geocaching app, but so far only a couple weaker attempts have become available-namely Geopher Lite and iGeocacher. By the sounds of it, geocaching fans really wanted to see something from Groundspeak, the company that started up Geocaching.com way back in 2000. Turns out they’ve submitted their first geocaching application to Apple and it should be available soon. Costing $9.99, the app will allow you to look up and seek out caches, look up travel bugs, and save a cache listing and navigate to it even when out of network range. An update should be available a month or so down the road that’ll allow you to log caches and filter hides and finds. Head over to the Groundspeak Forums for all the details and a bunch of screenshots.
