Hackers create GPS Arduino-based, solar-powered WaitLess Bus Tracking System

Hackers create Gps Arduino based

Nothing is more frustrating for Georgia Institute of Technology students than waiting at campus bus stops.  In fact 96 percent of enrolled students find the current bus notification system, which requires internet access, frustrating and often inaccurate.  The solution?

Four students created an Arduino-based bus scheduling system that connects to the internet through a wireless connection and requires no electrical connection because it’s completely solar-powered.  Called the GPS WaitLess Bus Tracking System, it can be installed at any campus bus stop and consists of a display that uses LEDs to show the current position of any bus on campus at a given time.

It’s a pretty interesting project and the four students who put it together have made the source code and schematics available on the project website.  Might be worth a look if you’re an GPS Arduino hacker.
