Have You Tried Google’s Mobile App For The iPhone?

You’ve likely already heard that Google has released its Mobile App for the iPhone, but it’s just too important not to document here, so I’m going ahead with it anyway.  Google Mobile App lets you easily conduct a search with your iPhone using only your voice.  The smartphone’s built-in accelerometer detects when you bring your phone to your face, then you just wait for the beep and say what you’re looking for.

Very specific searches such as movie listings will use the iPhone’s GPS (Search with My Location) to pinpoint your location and only return relevant results.  At times like this I wish I didn’t love my Blackberry Curve 8330 so much!  Check out the video above for an explanation from Google engineer Mike LeBeau and if you want to read a great article about the future ramifications of this application, check out Tim O’Reilly’s article.

You can download Google Mobile App for the iPhone at Apple’s app store.
