Help customers find your business with HopStop’s transit direction API

hopstop-logo

HopStop, a service that provides transit and walking directions, has launched a free API for business owners.

Using the API, a business can implement HopStop’s database of directions into its website, allowing potential customers to easily find accurate transit and walking directions to its doorstep.  It offers a stickiness factor as well–it can be used to find directions to all kinds of places and hotspots in New York City, New Jersey, Chicago, Boston, San Francisco, and Washington–so website visitors could stay around longer.

HopStop is providing the API for free as long as it doesn’t exceed 1000 calls per day, but the company is offering a premium service for larger websites that allows more API calls and customized design.

You can check out three demos HopStop put together to show you how the API works, all providing code to help you get it up and running easily: Google Maps, Yahoo Maps, MapQuest.
