HTC is right on the ball in 2009, not only launching the Android-based Dream in Singapore and Australia, not to mention working on a “G2″, but also cutting a line of Qualcomm Snapdragon-based mobile devices in the second quarter. The new HTC Snapdragon phone won’t quite beat Toshiba’s Snapdragon-based, GPS-sportin’ TG01 to market but it could very well be number two. The company is also reported to be working on Intel Atom-based mobile devices which will launch post Snapdragon.
It’s possible we’ll see Snapdragon-based handsets, possibly in tandem with the Android operating system, from Samsung, LG Electronics, Acer, ASUS, Quanta, Compal, Wistron, Inventec and Foxconn in ‘09.
