HTC has made the Touch Diamond2 and Touch Pro2, first announced at Mobile World Congress, official. Announced yesterday in Singapore, the Touch Diamond2 and Touch Pro2 both feature HTC’s TouchFlo 3D interface integrated with Windows Mobile 6.1. TouchFlo 3D is supposed to improve navigation on the pair of handsets by moving often-used features to the front of the interface. HTC says that the touch areas are larger and more finger-friendly than last year’s models.
The Touch Diamond2 has a similar form factor to the original Touch Diamond at only 13.7 millimeters thick. It features a 3.2-inch display with VGA resolution, a touch zoom bar, Push Internet technology, GPS, a 5 megapixel camera, gravity and ambient light sensors, a larger battery, and expandable memory.
The Touch Pro2 has a larger 3.6-inch VGA display, a QWERTY keyboard, Push Internet technology and GPS. All of the other features are pretty well identical to the Touch Diamond2.
Both handsets also have HTC Straight Talk technology which allows users to seamlessly move between email to single or multi-party conference calls.
Shipping between mid-May and the end of June, HTC’s Touch Diamond2 and Touch Pro2 are priced at SGD $1,088 and $1,328, though expect prices to be substantially less when the handset duo hits North America with carrier subsidies.
