We had expected to see Taiwan smartphone maker Huawei’s Android phone at the Mobile World Congress last week, but unfortunately it was a no-show. However, a report from Digitimes says that a Huawei-developed touchscreen Android handset will launch on T-Mobile in the third quarter of 2009.
The report didn’t offer specifics, but also said Huawei has entered in a strategic partnership with ZTE to create handsets and data card devices for T-Mobile in Europe. Huawei is also apparently busy developing Symbian-based smartphones that are expected to roll out in the second half of 2009.
