Korea-based ReignCom has launched the iriver NV Mini in Korea. The NV Mini combines GPS functionality with an emphasis on the multimedia features of a portable media player. Offering up a 3.5-inch 320 x 240 pixel display, the iriver NV Mini has 4 GB of internal memory, expandable to 8 GB, runs on Windows CE 5.0, and sports GPS software developed by Korean company Gini.
It’s funny that the NV mini with its portable media player branding doesn’t have a digital camera, nor a TV tuner, a spec almost ubiquitous to media players in Asia. It’s battery life of 2.5 hours doesn’t make it a particularly useful navigational device either, but at least it’s fairly cheap. Costing 188, 000 Won, or about $130 US, the iriver NV Mini probably won’t be moving outside of Korea anytime soon.
