Get this: a Miami-based company called Isaac Daniel that makes shoes with built-in GPS technology has signed a $75 million contract to have its shoes distributed in the former Soviet Republics, now known as the Commonwealth of Independent States. The deal is actually with a Delaware-based company, Victory Grand Development, that has offices in Moscow and also includes distribution of Isaac Daniel’s FindU, a GPS locator that can be attached to your belt. Despite the fact that Isaac Daniel is located in the US, the companies products still can’t be found on retail shelves anywhere. The company attributes that to a poor US economy but added that we’ll probably see it happen in the future. They also said that they’re currently working on a project with the US military but wouldn’t elaborate further. If you want an Isaac Daniel GPS sneaker, expect to pay big bucks though–they cost about $350.
